Born In The USA

The Sunshine has come out to play and we've really made the most of it this afternoon. Nathan & I went for a drive with Killswitch playing full blast with our summer attire on, picked up some friends and had a little adventure around our local area trying to find Garden Furniture, like real Grown Ups.
With bags full of barbecue supplies we came home to set up the garden with Bruce Springsteen singing to us and delicious veggie burgers for lunch.

I love Sundays.

“I wanted so badly to lie down next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep. Not fuck, like in those movies. Not even have sex. Just sleep together in the most innocent sense of the phrase. But I lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend and I was gawky and she was gorgeous and I was hopelessly boring and she was endlessly fascinating. So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was hurricane.”

The minute you say "Tattoos" on the internet everyone likes to make their opinions known. Personally for me tattoo's are something of a memory, a time place and a moment of your life that will stick with you for eternity. I was always told "If you get a tattoo you'll regret it when your older!" well, i'm growing older everyday and I don't regret them. A few I was like fuck, probably should have got something less dreadful but you can always have the option to get that piece covered with something better. I've been thinking recently on how I'd really love my thighs done now I have extra money and I have heaps of ideas and inspirations are floating around this week so I thought i'd leave it here.

(Some of these photo's are from one of my favourite artists Harriet Heath. Check her out.)

Burning a hole in my pockets

I suck at saving money. Here is a few of my naughty little splurges from the last couple of months. Not including the new Henry Holland coat, Cath Kidston Strawberry china set, Lush haul and Donna Wilson goodies.. Ruh Roh.

Watts Up! & Hoola Review

My skin tone is literally A4 paper white, true English Rose with dark hair and very pale skin. Bronzers and heavy blusher has always scared me to death the fear of the Orange foundation and slut tan line. I mean let's be honest when I first started wearing makeup in my pre teens I had NO idea how to match my shade believed pale was really ugly because everyone else had a tan and didn't wear the right shade on my face at all just some cheap powder I found at a local pharmacy. Being pale is not a curse i've learned that it's really beautiful. I'm so happy being pale and trying au natural styles instead of over the top Nicki Minaj bullshit. Recently I tried some brand new products from Benefit Cosmetics and totally fell in love. Watts Up! is a really special highlighter with a golden glow apply generously above your cheekbones and under the eye area and blend with the super handy blending brush on the other end of the product. Then I actually use this one down the length of my nose to slim and on my head in outwards lines to slightly contour my face. Underneath the Watts Up! cheekbone line I pop a sweep of Hoola and blend that right towards my ears and mainly on the apples of your cheeks. I found this is such an amazing combination especially as the Hoola! doesn't contain any orange pigmentation. It's a natural gradual Bronze Goddess style really effortlessly.

I've never really cared or followed Kim Kardashian but here is some examples of her contouring, adding shadows and definition to her make up. Wanna try? Go for Watts Up! & Hoola for a really cheeky quick way to illuminate, brighten and contour.

You Can Call Me Queen P.

She absolutely loves this pastel crochet blanket at the moment. I don't know if it's because i'm always working recently or that she just wants to hibernate but hiding under things is her favourite thing at the moment. She's such a little character.

The Sea Is Calling.

Do you ever go through your Facebook timeline and realise everyone is either drunk, pregnant or married? It's come to the point in my twenties in which that is all I see. I mean everyone is at different points in their own lives which is fair enough. For me, it makes me think that i'm not doing anything with my time. Which realistically is really dumb as i've built myself a great career, incredible relationship and building our future home. A few friends are currently travelling the world whenever I see a photo of Australia or Thailand basically anywhere with sunshine it gives me hope that there is a huge world outside of England. Some days when I get off the bus from work I look up at the sky and think about all of the other countries and people who look at the exact same stars and solar system just above our heads. So, with this weird midlife crisis I bought a gorgeous bright 80's looking EuroHike backpack from eBay for about ten pounds. They are usually around £70-£80 brand new and will be so useful for Download too. Even though it's bigger than me I can tell Nathan & I are going to have some really incredible adventures with this little beauty.

Learning to love you more

The other side of my brain

Hidden thoughts deep thinking and just general brain ache. Tonight's going to be a long night. Insomnia, I hate you.

“Do not fall in love with people like me.
I will take you to
 museums, and parks, and monuments,
and kiss you in every beautiful
 place, so that you can
 never go back to them
 without tasting me
 like blood in your mouth.
I will destroy you in the most
beautiful way possible.
 And when I leave
you will finally understand,
why storms are named after people.”
Paraphrased and mixed from Katrina, M.K., and Unknown.

“I’m offended by all the ‘supposed to’s.’ I don’t like women telling other women what to do, or how to do it, or when to do it.”

Festivals

I know it's rainy as hell and so cold your nipples hurt but I actually cannot wait for festival season. Fingers crossed the sunshine actually makes an appearance but even if it doesn't i'm so up for sweaty, muddy, messy rock and metal. I've been to a fair few festivals before and some girls are like "I can't not shower for five days" or the usual one is "what will I do without extensions or straighteners?". The whole point of a festival is to camp, get dirty and have an incredible time. That's exactly what I plan to do. The muddier the better.

Wedding planning at the Powder Mills

In a few weeks my uncle is getting married to his really lovely partner Julie. They have asked me to be their wedding photographer so today we ventured up to the venue to have a wonder around the grounds, make some plans and imagine how perfect their big day will be. We drove in though this old brick bridge passing trees and some breathtaking landscape. The grounds are wonderful with an old hidden barn, sheep, an outside pool and seating area, the old Gunpowder room, the music room, lake house and so many more special locations. I'm really excited for the event, Powder Mills is really something from a dream.
