Sunday's Strawberry & Banana Smoothie

Yesterday I headed over to my parents house for a little TLC. My mum has been working on growing her own fruit & vegetables for years. She took me on a little tour and showed me all of her hard work & i have to say, it looked beautiful. We don't really have the garden space at my house but one day i'd love to follow in her footsteps. We picked some ripe strawberries and I thought straight away "Smoothie!".

Here's how to make the best Strawberry & Banana Smothie from fresh.

I told you they were good. Juicy juicy juicy.

Chop up your ingredients. I bought the banana's which were just ripening. Who wants fruit and veg that will last just a day right? I always use one banana, one cup of milk and a handful of strawberries.

Throw all of your ingredients into the blender.

I put it on the highest function for around 3-5 minutes to make sure the fruit really blends into a fine texture. Lumpy smoothies are the worst.

So, you should have your finished result. With this batch it looked very thick so i just added a splash of milk to thin the consistency and ta da!

Recycle your old pots, bottled water, fruit juice bottles. They are so handy to have around, i literally use them for everything from pancake mix to pasta sauces.

Enjoy.

10 Commandments of being a real woman

  1. Let your hair dry naturally, embrace those curls. Tie it up in a scruff bun and forget every care in the world. Hair is hair, let's stop being vain.
  2. Grab your cleanser, toner and skincare products and get all of that shit off your face. I adore makeup as much as the next girl but in all honesty, is there a better feeling than taking it all off? I think not.
  3. Steal your boyfriends/dads/man of the house's tshirt. Wear some shorts or pyjama bottoms that make you feel that they are cuddling your bum. Yep, those. You know what I mean.
  4. Every single girl I know is so consumed with calories, weight, general appearance. From doing a little market research from my male friends do you  know when a guy is attracted to you the most? When your hair is up, you look like a total scruff yet are laughing & generally acting like a looser. That's the real moment when people fall in love.
  5. Close your eyes, take a second and breathe. With hormones, pheromones, baby creating and everything else our bodies tend to do it's totally acceptable to take a deep breath. We deserve it.
  6. Embrace change, your body's changed, your fringe has grown out, you need new fake nails. Who cares? I mean really.
  7. Don't let Geordie Shore and TOWIE influence your look on life, the teeny tinniest aspect of media is telling you how gorgeous orange tan, fake eyelashes, hair, nails, everything really is? Ha, REALLY?
  8. Love the people around you. Sometimes we don't say how we really feel and express how much our family and friends mean to us.
  9. Be kind.
  10. Enjoy every minute of your time on this world. Hey, your not going to get it back.

I always wanted to be a Tenenbaum, you know?

Wes Anderson in my eyes is a creative genius, the definition precision and accuracy that pours into his work is surreal. When your health isn't up to scratch your meant to lay there, rest and watch the world go by. I hate it. Productivity is ridiculously important to me and i thrive off making, imagining and planning my time and future. My walls are pretty bare, white paint and no character so i'm thinking of buying some vintage frames, thrify old looking beauties. A splash of pastel paint and a few pennies on some Wes Anderson prints and ta da! A beautiful wall made from collections of Wes' work. Here are a few of my current favourites, love you etsy.

I try to say goodbye and I choke

Try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it, it's clear
My world crumbles when you are not here.

I have this friend called Daisy and she's brilliant. With a keen eye for Graphics and an eye for everything pretty she's a perfect partner in crime for fun projects. We've been saying for weeks "we'll meet this week" to finally discuss our projects and get started creating beautiful pieces of art, textiles, graphic design etc, yet with our busy lifestyles we've been pushing this back a little too long. So I thought i'd push the boat out and begin with this single post. Four idea's I've gathered from Pinterest to get the ball rolling. This week i'm going to attempt pom pom fruits. Are you ready world?
Well I thought you'd say yes. & the good news is that I am going to attempt to blog everything.

For the first time on "Floral Dungarees" we will see:
  1. Step by Step tutorials.
  2. All of my successes and failures, ha.
  3. Hopefully a heap of inspiration to create & brighten up your day.

“My fears came true: people called me fat and hideous, and I lived. And now I keep living.” Lena Dunham.

Body issues, wight and general appearance has never been something that's always hung above my head until recently. I don't know whether it's the day to day exposure of models, makeup, weight and everything else that comes with working within the beauty industry. Since we began this affair Of romance, lust and mutual weirdness I admit I have put on way more weight than I should have. My eighteen year old metabolism has ran far and this twenty something pork chop of a body is regretting every carb that's touched my lips. I've been saying for a long time how I'd love to loose weight, diet and even when I do shifting this chub I've gained within the last few years has none existent. Green tea, juicing, raw diets nothing has really worked. The next step is joining my local gym and hitting it hard. Usually you will never see posts about my weight, tagged photos I'll always try and hide but in reality this is something that needs a good old fight. This time next year I want my 2010 body back and to look back with a feeling of accomplishment.

Wish me luck, if you have any tips or tricks, diet plans and general advice please comment!

Today at my training in Shepherds Bush // playing around at a friends in 2010. A little bit of a difference!

One word, clutter. That's my life at the moment living with a cluttered home, cluttered none existent wardrobe/temporary rail, cluttered handbag, cluttered mind. I mean, things take time right? Since I left Le Loup there really hasn't been enough time in the day to be productive. I've been dreaming of "the perfect home" for a long time now and kind of felt since moving that we'd get there but things take longer than imagined. But hey, that's okay. Today begins the "de cluttering" of my life. As a total hoarder this is little bugger but it can be done. Inspiration boards are up and all teams are go!

1. Tackle the boxes of clothes, old dresses and shoes under the bed and in the garage.
Donate, sell, throw.

2. The Bookcase, give away old books, things i'll never read again or look twice at.

3. BUY A BLOODY WARDROBE.

4. The art supplies, we left you til last as you are the worst, messiest, most productive thing around. It's hard to throw out spare colours, paints and canvas. Especially as I always insist "i will use that one day".

I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream.

I feel like a character from Roald Dahl's "The Twits" today. Snot trying to escape from my nostrils at every opportunity, tissues everywhere and a weak feeling that isn't shifting. My health really hasn't been on my side this year yet today it's given me a few hours to just lay on top of my Charlie & The Chocolate factory sheets and catch up online. Anthropologie always have timeless pieces yet this fall it's exactly what you could only dream of. I'm tempted to really treat myself this month and just buy the whole cart. There is a really unique leather bound notebook that looks like a prop from the Grand Budapest Hotel which has touched my heart & will definitely belong to me. Here are a few of the other items I'm lusting over.

Post festival blues

This week I've been living on the road taking a little adventure to Download Fest. Those five days were hands down five of my favourites from the last 23 years, with broken toes, too much alcohol, a bunch of inspirational people and some of the heaviest rock bands in the world in eyesight. Sometimes all you need is a break from society and your own routine to realise what's important in life. Get away, live in a tent, drink until you puke and be young. You'll never have the chance to again so enjoy every moment.

June Skincare & Purchases.

I've been looking for a new moisturiser forever, working in the beauty industry you are introduced to every big "anti ageing" word that doesn't actually mean a lot. I mean, yeah science is good it can help research and dig deep into the skins layers but in all realism I hate the word "anti ageing" it's total bull. Ageing is a natural part of life why constantly feel that you are too old, too young just embrace your own beauty and feel happiness instead of constant self doubt from the media. I was on the hunt for a moisturiser which is amazing for combination skin, sensitive enough for my horrible ecemza cheeks yet doesn't feed my face with oil. I've tried all of the moisturisers from Lush Cosmetics and still didn't find a perfect match, "Total Moisture" from Benefit was too heavy alongside with "Dramatically Different" from Clinique. I also bought "Hydraquench Lotion" from Clarins which is really lovely, i like the fact its all plant based ingredients and it puts it up amongst the top for me. Yet I also found Benefit's "Triple Performing Emulsion" to be incredibly light, hydrating and not at all thick and sticky. I'd prefer to buy the Clarins moisturiser forever as I can see the difference but at a huge price point i think i'll stick to my benefit one until it runs out. But there you have it girls, half of most beauty hall moisturisers summed up in a paragraph. What's your favourite skincare products? Let me know ladies!

Spring Break

Aloha!
I've been having a little break from social media/blogging/everything recently, it's been weird not automatically clicking on Facebook, posting my life on instagram or writing heaps of blog posts. I just wanted to say, I haven't disappeared forever. We're packing our download supplies and I came across heaps of tickets, wristbands and souvenirs we've collected over the years. Wednesday can't come soon enough!
Love B.  xo
